20 years ago the concept of a virtual campus appeared to be part of an utopic world. The communication needs have greatly increased during the last decades and research in technology has focused on developing new ways to offer access to sources of information. At the end of the first decade of this millennium we can state that a virtual campus is a very common concept for a university nowadays. Almost all the important teaching centers in the world have a prototype of a virtual campus which is able to offer teaching facilities starting with some courses materials that are posted on the university’s website and can be accessed by students through the usage of a username and a password (basic security features). More complex virtual campuses have many facilities and allow students to communicate with their teachers to have access to their marks, to give their exams online and to post their essays or papers so that their teachers have access to them.
